Account Services COLAThe Course Online Account (COLA) provides faculty with 50 megabytes of Web space for course development and presentation. This type of service is available for your use if you have developed course materials for a course and would like to put them on the Web. COLA space is available for one semester at a time (although it will remain for three months after the end of the semester). You will receive a renewal form before your space is set to expire, and if you desire, you can request that your COLA space continue for another semester. You can continue to renew the space indefinitely as long as the instructor making the request is still teaching at Penn State. To renew the directory each semester, send e-mail to accounts@psu.edu. Include the current course name, number, and section information and the new course name, number, and section. You can also return the renewal form that you will receive for this service before the end of the semester the directory is set for. You do not have to get the COLA service for all of your course sections. If you wish to do so, submit a special request with your application form. The URL for your course will be http://www.courses.psu.edu/ followed by the course, course number, and the instructor's user ID, as in the following example: http://www.courses.psu.edu/art/art100_xyz101/ To restrict access to your COLA, please see the following instructions. Requirements: To apply for a COLA, you must:
To request a COLA, instructors need to fill out the ITS Academic Computing Services Request Form and select the "COLA" option from the "Course-Related Services" section of the form. Additional COLA space may be requested at no charge; however, ITS reserves the right to limit disk allocations. Please send a request to accounts@psu.edu or use the ITS Academic Computing Services Request Form to request COLA space increases. |
