Database Course-Related Service

The Database course-related service allows faculty to request database services for each student in a course. This type of service is available if your students will need to use databases for course assignments. Space allocations for this service no longer apply due to the 1GB maximum quota available to PASS users. Please see the "Directory Quotas" section of the ITS Secure Server for details. More information about PASS is found on the PASS information page.

Course-related database space is available for one semester.

Requirements: To apply for the database course-related service, you must:

  1. Be an Instructor of a Penn State class.
  2. Have a Penn State Access Account.

To request the database course-related service, faculty need to fill out the ITS Academic Computing Services Request Form and select the "Database" option from the "Course-Related Services" section of the form. On the back of the form, please specify course information to include an entire class roster along with any additional authorized users needing the database service.

This form is in PDF format and requires the free software Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please submit the completed form to the ITS Computer Accounts Office, 101 Computer Building, University Park or fax to 814-865-9289.

NOTE: Faculty or staff members can request that students, who need a database account for project work, have access to this service by adding student information under the "Users" section of the "Academic Services" form.

If you have questions or need assistance with your application, contact the ITS Computer Accounts Office via e-mail at accounts@psu.edu or by phone at 814-865-4772.

More information about the database course-related service will be available soon. Please check this page for updates.
