TSM 5.3.2 System and User Preferences Update for Macintosh

The new TSM 5.3.2 client now uses the UNIX file system's path structure for include and exclude options. While this helps the client run more efficiently, it affects how paths are stored in the TSM option files and schedule definitions. Users installing TSM on a new machine should take note of these changes as they are different from previous versions of the client; users upgrading to the 5.3.2 client will need to change the existing TSM System Preferences and TSM User Preferences files, per the instructions below.

1. Upgrade to the 5.3.2 client.
2. The System and User Preferences files, respectively, should then be opened in a text editor so you can view your current option settings. The default location for the option files is:
   /Library/Preferences/Tivoli Storage Manager
   
   The table below represents the former (left column) and the new (right column) include-exclude options. It is suggested that you simply copy and paste to replace the former options with the new ones.

3. Launch the TSM 5.3.2. client. The options should be changed and active. If you experience any problems, please contact backup@psu.edu.
