Emergency Maintenance re: email.psu.edu Scheduled for Saturday, July 1, 2006

On Saturday, July 1, 2006, 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Information Technology Services (ITS), will perform emergency system maintenance to the machine that supports email.psu.edu and CACTUS (Central Accounts Coordination Tracking of User Sevices). During this time the following services will not be available:

• e-mail services using email.psu.edu (impacts all students and faculty and staff who use this server)
• the Penn State Access Account Signature Stations at all campus locations
• the ITS Digital Identity Management Center (also known as the ITS Consultants' Interface)

This maintenance is being performed as a follow-up to a hardware failure, experienced within the last month, that eliminated system redundancy and reduced the performance associated with these services.
