Update - TSM Server Upgrade Status - Completion Date Changed to August 2

The TSM server upgrade that was begun at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2006 is taking longer than originally anticipated. The entire upgrade is comprised of four major phases, all of which took longer than expected to complete - despite rigorous testing on the new system. During the test period, phase 1 took approximately 1 hour, phase 2 took approximately 4 hours, phase 3 took approximately 45 hours, and the final phase took 23 hours. While the test was performed multiple times, any differentials in timing were within one hour.

The actual time for each part has been much longer than expected. As of today at 10:30 a.m., the final phase was begun. If it is completed in 23 hours as estimated, then the total upgrade should be completed by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, inclusive of final maintenance.

Because of schedules, restores from the old server will no longer function as of 8:00 a.m. on August 2. They will resume on the new server, once the entire upgrade is completed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause you/your staff. Thank you for your patience during this time.
