The Graduate Education and Research Services (GEaRS) group provides high-performance computing and visualization resources and related staff services to support cutting-edge research and teaching conducted by Penn State faculty across many disciplines. Service areas include provision of production systems for high performance computing and visualization; software consulting and user support; evaluation of emerging system architectures and software; project-based software development and collaboration; and teaching and outreach to help support and grow the community of scholars who increasingly depend on computations in their research and teaching endeavors. GEaRS' systems acquisition and development is conducted in close collaboration with faculty representing a broad cross-section of the Penn State research community. The ongoing partnership with our faculty partners allows us to offer solutions that have been tailored precisely to specific needs of the research efforts supported.
