In addition to regular job responsibilities, many ASET staff members participate in many professionally-oriented activities by serving on University and/or national committees, attending and presenting at University-based and national conferences and international conferences, teaching seminars, etc. Please note that the information below is based on the annual report submissions; therfore, some participants/activities as well as dates, places, and other information, may not be reflected here.
Many staff across ASET dedicated their time and resources to the 2007 ITS Expo and Event, held on April 24, 2007. ASET services represented at the event were inclusive of digital identity management, networking, Penn State WebMail, social and collaborative networking initiatives, and interactive 3-D modeling applications.
A cross-section of ASET staff combined efforts and talents to develop the ASET Security Best Practices document, an effort seeded in ASET's Emerging Technologies (ET). Representatives included Mike Burns (ET), Gavin Burris (GEaRS), Rich Cropp (ET), and Max Miller (AIT).
Melanie Rupert, financial advisor for ASET, attended SIGUCCS in Savannah, GA in Spring 2007. In addition, she taught Horticulture 138, a required 3 credit course for Landscape Architure majors at Penn State Altoona.
